Moxie (joinmoxie.com) is a launch and operations partner for medspas, with medical director matching, compliance tools, Moxie Suite software, coaching and done-for-you Meta marketing. The Moxie med spa reviews I could check are the testimonials on its own site, which are strongly positive. I couldn't assess a broad set of independent reviews. Moxie doesn't publish its price, and TechCrunch reported a launch fee plus a percentage of sales.
I'm Lorea, and I run Medspa Market Pro. We're an alternative to one part of Moxie only, the marketing and patient acquisition part. We don't offer a medical director, compliance support, an EMR or launch coaching. If you need those, this page will say so.
One naming note. Searching "Moxie med spa" also brings up local clinics with Moxie in their name, like Moxie Medispa in Wisconsin. This page is about Moxie the medspa platform at joinmoxie.com.
What Moxie is and who it's for
Moxie is a company that helps nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and doctors launch, run and grow their own medspas. Its about page says it launched in April 2022. In March 2026 the American Med Spa Association reported a $25 million Series C, bringing Moxie's total funding to $51 million, and said Moxie supports more than 700 aesthetic practices.
Its "How we work" page splits the service into three stages.
- Launch. A launch coach, medical director matching, legal templates, help securing insurance, and help setting your menu and pricing. Moxie says partners launch in 30 to 60 days.
- Run. Moxie Suite, its all-in-one medspa software with booking, intake forms, automated client messages, charting and good faith exams, plus supply discounts.
- Scale. Monthly one-on-one coaching, done-for-you Instagram and Facebook campaigns, staff sales training, and membership programs.
Moxie's marketing page adds a website, local SEO, a library of social posts, Meta ads, event playbooks and automated rebooking texts. Its partner FAQ is narrower on who does what. It says Moxie manages paid Facebook and Instagram ads within budgets you approve, while you handle local field marketing, run events and post to your own social accounts.
Moxie says its ideal fit is an ambitious NP, RN, PA, DO or MD with hands-on injectables experience.
How much does Moxie cost?
Moxie doesn't publish a price. Its site says "no fixed monthly fees" and calls its pricing performance-based. TechCrunch reported in 2023 that Moxie charges a launch fee and makes most of its money from a percentage of sales. In 2024 TechCrunch described it as a percentage of total sales.
Three cost details are on Moxie's own pages.
- The percentage covers all sales. For an existing practice, the partner FAQ says the fee is charged against the full sales total, not only new services.
- Your medical director is a separate cost. Moxie's FAQ says most medical directors in its network charge about $650 a month for new medspas, rising to about $1,000 a month once you pass 100 clients a month.
- Ad spend is extra. The marketing page says everything is included except ad spend.
Here's why the percentage matters as you grow. Each percentage point on $40,000 of monthly sales is $400 a month, and on $80,000 it's $800. A flat-fee model costs the same at both levels. Neither is better in every case, so run the math at your own sales before you compare.
Contract terms
Moxie's terms of use cover its website only. I couldn't find published partner contract terms, so ask for these in writing.
- How long the agreement runs, and how you exit
- The launch fee, the percentage, and what counts as sales
- Who owns the Meta ad account, the website, the domain and your patient data
- How you export patient records from Moxie Suite if you leave
What Moxie med spa reviews say
- Moxie's own site. Its How we work page shows a 5.0 Google rating badge, and its reviews post quotes owners who credit Moxie with faster launches, coaching and support. These are testimonials Moxie selected. One case study mentions 275+ five-star reviews for a partner clinic, which is that clinic's reviews, not Moxie's.
- Company figures. In the AmSpa funding news, Moxie reported a 97% retention rate and said more than 20% of new practices join by referral. These are Moxie's numbers.
- Independent review sites. I could verify Moxie's selected testimonials, but I couldn't independently assess a broad set of third-party reviews. Capterra and Trustpilot blocked my checks, and I found no Google profile for Moxie in our review data tool. That's a limit of my check, not proof that few reviews exist.
- Owner forums. Threads like "Is JoinMoxie legit for opening a Medspa?" on r/MedSpa and owner posts in medspa Facebook groups rank for these searches. I couldn't open them, so I haven't summarized them. Read several yourself before deciding.
Moxie's marketing page also advertises Meta ad returns of 3x in month one and 8x by year one. Ask how it measures that return and whether it counts revenue from patients who would have booked anyway.
Real strengths
- One partner for a new medspa. Launch help, a medical director match, software and marketing under one roof cuts a lot of setup work.
- Built for aesthetics. Charting, good faith exams and compliance alerts are made for medspas.
- Aligned on revenue. With no fixed monthly fee, Moxie earns more only when your sales grow.
- Well funded. $51 million raised as of March 2026, per AmSpa.
- Your name on the door. TechCrunch notes Moxie doesn't license its brand, so you build your own.
Limits to weigh
- No published price. You can't compare cost before a sales call.
- The fee grows with you. A percentage of total sales can cost more than a flat fee as revenue climbs.
- It's a bundle. If you already have a medical director and software you like, you may pay for a package when you only need patients.
- Some marketing stays with you. Its FAQ puts field marketing, events and your own social posting on your side.
- Hard to check independently. The reviews I could verify are testimonials Moxie selected, so ask for references you choose yourself.
When to look for a marketing alternative to Moxie
- Your medspa is already open, with a medical director and software you're happy with.
- You want a flat, written monthly fee instead of a share of total sales.
- You want to test paid ads on one treatment before a bigger commitment.
- You want the ad account, campaigns and audiences in your name, in writing.
If you're opening your first medspa and need launch, compliance and a medical director, the options below don't replace that. Keep Moxie on your shortlist, or pair a launch partner or a healthcare attorney with a marketing provider.
Marketing alternatives to Moxie
1. Medspa Market Pro (that's us)
Best for medspas that want to test Meta ads on one treatment, with a fixed fee and no contract.
Price. The First Visit Test is $299 for the first month, then $1,000 a month, cancel anytime. Your ad budget is paid to Meta directly. There's no percentage of your sales.
How it differs. We build one Meta campaign for one treatment, with the offer, the ad and the sign-up form. We write your front desk's follow-up script and manage the campaign. The campaign, form and audience stay in your ad account. We report spend, sign-ups and cost per sign-up, and your team adds bookings and attended visits. Our LaVieMD campaign brought in 370 leads at $13.26 each over six months. Those were leads, not booked patients, and we don't guarantee patient numbers.
Limits. No medical director, compliance service, EMR, booking system or website builds. The roster is capped, and we work in writing by default. Local SEO, Instagram and email start with a written audit and are quoted in writing, month to month.
2. Med Spa Magic Marketing
Best for established medspas that want flat-fee managed marketing. Its site says its programs are designed for "established, highly successful med spas ($2M+ and multi-location)" and those that want to get there, with tiers starting around $1 million to $2 million per location.
Price. Its programs and pricing page lists programs from $3,495 a month for Meta ads, short video and retention reporting, with Google Ads at $4,495 and SEO and PR at $6,995. An on-ramp starts at $1,000 a month by application. Onboarding is waived with a six-month commitment. Without that commitment, onboarding is $6,000 for the first phase, and each phase sets a minimum ad spend ($5,000+ a month on Meta for the first).
Contract. A 3-month minimum, then 30 days' notice. Its page says ad spend runs from ad accounts you own, with no markup.
How it differs. An agency serving med spas since 2012 that says its program fees are flat and it never charges per booking. The exception is its $1,000 on-ramp (Flex Performance), which adds $100 per booked and paid patient.
3. Growth99
Best for practices that want marketing software and done-for-you marketing from one vendor, without launch services.
Price. Not published. Its pricing page says pricing is available on request.
How it differs. Patient texting and email automation, review tools, websites, SEO and Google and Meta ads management. Its published agreement runs one year and renews automatically unless you give 60 days' notice, unless your order form says otherwise. See our Growth99 review.
4. DoctorLogic
Best for practices whose main gap is the website, with SEO and paid search on top.
Price. Not published. Its pricing page is a demo request form. Ask for a written quote.
How it differs. HIPAA-compliant websites, medical SEO and PPC from a healthcare-focused provider that says it has designed sites for more than 1,000 medical practices. Its help center says your Google Ads budget is spent directly on Google Ads, separate from its management fee.

Questions to ask any provider before you sign
- What will I pay each month at my current sales, and at double my current sales?
- How long is the agreement, and what do I owe if I leave early?
- Whose name are the ad account, website, domain and patient records in, and how do I export them?
- Will reports show sign-ups, booked appointments and attended visits?
- Which marketing tasks stay with my front desk and me?
- Can I speak with two practices my size that have stayed more than a year?

Moxie FAQ
How much does Moxie cost?
Moxie doesn't publish a price. Its site says there are no fixed monthly fees and that pricing is performance-based. TechCrunch reported in 2023 that Moxie charges a launch fee and makes most of its money from a percentage of sales. Ask for the launch fee, the percentage and what counts as sales in writing.
How much is Moxie software?
Moxie doesn't list a software-only price. Moxie Suite, its EMR and booking software, is presented as part of the Moxie partnership, and the site sends you to a demo call for details.
What services does Moxie provide?
Launch coaching, medical director matching, legal templates and insurance help for new medspas. Moxie Suite software for charting, booking, intake and compliance. Supply discounts, monthly business coaching, and done-for-you marketing, including Meta ads, a website, local SEO, social templates and event playbooks.
Is Moxie worth it?
It can be for a provider opening a first medspa who wants launch help, a medical director match, software and marketing from one partner. For an open practice that already has a medical director and software, a percentage of total sales can cost more than a flat-fee marketing provider. Compare both in writing at your current monthly sales.
Is Moxie a franchise?
No. TechCrunch described the model as resembling a franchise in many ways, with one key difference. Moxie doesn't license its brand, so practices run under their owners' names.
Can I use Moxie and a separate marketing agency?
Moxie's partner FAQ says that for an existing practice its fee is charged against the full sales total. If you hire an outside agency too, ask Moxie in writing whether sales from that agency's work are included in its percentage.
Test new-patient ads for a flat fee
If your medspa is open and the gap is new patients, start with the First Visit Test. We build one Meta campaign for one treatment you already sell and write your front desk's follow-up. It's live within 7 days of having your access and basics, not counting time waiting for your approval. It's $299 for the first month, then $1,000 a month, cancel anytime, with no share of your sales. Your ad budget goes to Meta directly.
